According to the Commercial Companies Law/Federal Decree No. 26 of 2020, some provisions of the Federal Law No. 2 of 2015 were amended, and this included the amendments of the provisions that stipulated that the competent authority has the right to allow foreigners to own 100% of all economic activities except for a list of activities with a strategic impact. The Commercial Companies Law guarantees that foreign companies are treated like national companies in terms of benefits, guarantees, facilities, and all factors being utilized to maintain the permanence of investors' business.

Export Environment in Emirate of Ajman

Emirate of Ajman is aware of the importance of exports in increasing the national income, as exports are the basis for the UAE foreign trade. They also contribute to building a distinct economy, help attract investment, create new added-value projects, and thus increase growth rates. Therefore, establishing Ajman's position as a local and regional destination for exports is one of the most significant strategic goals of Ajman.

Ajman has 5 industrial zones and two free zones with an area of about 6% of the total area of Ajman. In addition, the total valid licenses in such industrial zones are estimated at about 31% of the total licenses in the Emirate.

The Department of Economic Development (DED) always strives to enhance the export environment in Ajman. Accordingly, the Department signed several agreements with the aim of developing Ajman's exports. The DED signed agreements and memoranda of understanding with the local authorities in Ajman, and signed a memorandum of understanding with DP World to provide Ajman's exporters with the benefits of the World Logistics Passport (WLP) services.

What is the World Logistics Passport (WLP)?


It is a high-quality logistical services and facilities provided by the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, DP World and its affiliated parties, to the Ajman's exporters registered in this Program within certain criteria. The DED signed an agreement with the concerned authorities, whereby exporters in the private sector benefit from this agreement. This agreement is based on benefiting from the multi-modal logistical facilities in Dubai, and it primarily aims to open new markets for Ajman’s exporters and to enter global markets.
