The Ajman Department of Economic Development has announced the outstanding results of the “Narsod Maan” campaign, launched by the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Department as part of its efforts to enhance community oversight and enable members of the public to easily report commercial violations. The campaign, which has been running from May 2025 until now, witnessed wide engagement and resulted in 546 reports on various commercial violations, reflecting the increased awareness of customers and their growing role in supporting the consumer protection system.
The Department relied on its official WhatsApp channel (0550080070) as a primary platform for reporting, in addition to the Department’s official website and the Ajman Contact Center (80070). These channels allowed customers to submit reports and inquiries and obtain advice related to commercial laws and policies through quick and simple steps. This digital transformation, implemented within the framework of the Government Zero Bureaucracy Program, has contributed to improving response efficiency and strengthening interaction between the Department and the public.
Three main types of violations topped the list of registered reports: distortion of the public appearance and non-compliant advertising boards (153 reports), offensive or intrusive printed materials and promotional media (102 reports), and operating outside permitted working hours without a permit (98 reports). These figures highlight the community’s awareness of the impact of such violations on the economic landscape and quality of life in the emirate.
The campaign’s results underscored the vital role played by the most engaged customers, who submitted the highest number of reports, reflecting their awareness and sense of responsibility in protecting consumer rights and upholding sound commercial standards. The Department documented a list of the most proactive customers as an expression of its appreciation for their valuable contribution.
As part of the Department’s work on the campaign, awareness efforts accompanied the initiative, including the production and dissemination of visual educational materials to raise awareness of reporting mechanisms and encourage community participation. These efforts helped amplify the campaign’s messages and extend their reach to various audience segments.
Commenting on the campaign, Mr. Saud Al Shemri, Director of the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Department, said:
“‘We Monitor Together’ is a successful model for engaging the community in positive oversight. The results demonstrate the high level of awareness among members of society and their pivotal role in detecting commercial violations and contributing to the improvement of the economic landscape in the emirate. Receiving 546 reports during the campaign period reflects customers’ confidence in the Department’s services and their keenness to protect consumer rights and support business compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.
At the Ajman Department of Economic Development, we believe that oversight is not the responsibility of a single entity, but rather an ongoing partnership between the Department and the public. Through initiatives such as this campaign, we seek to strengthen and entrench this concept. We will continue to develop digital reporting tools and expand awareness efforts to ensure a safe and transparent business environment that contributes to enhancing quality of life and the competitiveness of the Emirate of Ajman.”
The results of the “We Monitor Together” campaign reaffirm the success of the oversight model based on partnership between the Department and members of the community and support the emirate’s direction towards enhancing transparency and improving levels of commercial compliance through innovative digital solutions and broad community participation.
The Ajman Department of Economic Development also reaffirms its commitment to continuing to develop initiatives that strengthen consumer protection and elevate the commercial landscape, while maintaining accessible communication channels that enable all community members to report and contribute to safeguarding a safe and sustainable economic environment.
