The Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) concluded the events of the "Entrepreneurship Week", which was held in the Flag Park and Ajman City Center, with the participation of a number of government agencies. The Week achieved great success and satisfaction for customers, community, and participating government agencies. The Week included a number of events, including an exhibition for entrepreneurs, and an instant registration platform for the program, where 42 entrepreneurs were enrolled in the program. Training courses were prepared to target university students, Ajman government employees, and customers.
For his part, H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director-General of Ajman DED, stressed that the Department is keen to support owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in various fields and ways, as persons registered in the "Taziz" and "Reyada" programs are exempted from local fees for 5 years for external licenses and 3 years for household licenses. The Department enables the entrepreneurs to manage their project by developing their entrepreneurial skills by giving them training courses and workshops that refine their skills and enable them from developing their own businesses. 200 entrepreneurs have benefited from these training courses that aimed at developing their skills during the "Entrepreneurship Week".
Al Hamrani added that the support for SME owners in all sectors will continue, and said: "Our goal is to develop Ajman's economy through our initiatives that support project owners, and we thank our partners who shared this support with us and hosted project owners at their workplaces. This collaboration represents the integration between government agencies to the leadership and advancement of the emirate of Ajman."
For his part, H.E. Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, stressed that the Department does not hesitate to support all initiatives and qualitative events seeking to promote SMEs and help their owners to the path of success and continuity. He expressed his pride in the "Entrepreneurship Week", which was organized by Ajman DED. It did achieve the desired objectives of its launch, and granted creativity and innovation opportunities to entrepreneurs, to implement innovative ideas on the ground. Al Nuaimi said that the Department hosted at its headquarter the "Entrepreneurship Exhibition", which was organized by Ajman DED to highlight projects worthy of encouragement, and we strive together and hand in hand to advance the economic development in Ajman. We hope that the "Entrepreneurship Week" has many coning editions to spread the culture of production and create diverse job opportunities.
Regarding the participation of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development., Ms. Jawaher Al Matrooshi, Director of the Support Services Administration at the Department of Tourism Development, said about their participation in the "Entrepreneurship Week" that: "the Department's participation in the "Entrepreneurship Week" with the other participating departments in Ajman is based on our keenness to spread awareness of the importance of SMEs for all segments of society, and the Department has hosted a number of project owners and provided them with the support necessary for entering and expanding in the work market, and informing the work team of their importance and role in supporting the UAE strategy in sustainable economic growth.
In this regard, Aisha Kajoor Al Nuaimi - Director of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Section, said: "The Entrepreneurship Week has achieved its objectives, in identifying the methods of developing the services, acquiring skills and experiences, and exchanging knowledge and visions by addressing customers and sharing their ideas and aspirations. Al Nuaimi added that the Ajman DED is keen, in its strategic plan, to keep pace with global developments, in order to reach the highest levels of support for SMEs owners, through the use of the best modern technological techniques to achieve the desired aspirations and facilitate the customer's journey. The Ajman DED launched, during the "Entrepreneurship Week", the initiative of "Automation of Taziz Program", which aims to convert all transactions into electronic transactions to make it easy for the customers and gain their trust. Al Nuaimi added that the registration in the Taziz Program is available via the Department’ e-mail sme.adviser@ajmanded.ae and mobile app Ajmanded.
The closing ceremony of the "Entrepreneurship Week" witnessed the honoring of the winners of the innovative initiatives, the honoring of distinguished employees and the work team who organize this week and competitions for employees. The closing ceremony targeted the Ajman DED’s employees, as it has qualified human cadres and an excellent work team. The Department is always keen to thank and support its employees who spare no efforts in enhancing customers’ confidence and satisfaction.
