The Ajman Department of Economic Development (Ajman DED) held a specialized workshop to develop its Strategic Foresight Plan for future initiatives and projects through 2040. The workshop took place on Thursday, 23 July 2026, at Ajman Saray Hotel, as part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its future readiness and enhance its strategic planning framework in line with the vision of the Government of Ajman and the UAE’s future aspirations.
The workshop brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including partners from local and federal government entities, customers, investors, DED employees, and representatives from relevant organizations. This reflects the Department’s commitment to collaborative planning and reinforces institutional and community partnerships in shaping future initiatives and projects.
The workshop aimed to anticipate future economic trends and transformations, identify strategic priorities and key areas of impact, and leverage participants’ insights and expertise. It also sought to gather ideas and recommendations that would contribute to developing a comprehensive and flexible Strategic Foresight Plan based on the best international practices and modern foresight methodologies.
Participants also discussed several topics related to the future of the Department’s work, as well as the opportunities and challenges expected to influence the business environment and economic services over the coming years. These discussions will support the development of innovative initiatives and projects, enhance institutional efficiency and readiness, strengthen the Emirate’s competitiveness, and contribute to achieving sustainable economic development.
The Department emphasized that involving partners, customers, and employees in developing the Strategic Foresight Plan enhances the quality of its outcomes, ensures that future initiatives are aligned with the needs of the community and the business sector, and supports the creation of a more agile, innovative, and resilient economic ecosystem capable of adapting to rapid change.
This workshop is part of a series of initiatives implemented by Ajman DED to adopt strategic foresight methodologies, foster a culture of innovation and future thinking, and enhance community and institutional participation in shaping the future of the economic sector. These efforts aim to deliver high-impact initiatives and projects that meet the Emirate’s aspirations and support the achievement of its development goals through 2040.
