The events of UAE Innovation Month were launched at the Department of Economic Development in conjunction with the events of UAE Innovates, which take pace in the month of February of each year to celebrate the innovators and innovations that contribute to strengthening the country's position as a global hub for innovation. This month includes many distinguished internal and external events and competitions to educate the public and employees about innovation, including "Share Me Innovation" competition for employees, the launch of the "Ajman Future" initiative, the "Demo Day" exhibition, the registration of employees' intellectual works, and the launch of the "Innovation Portal" initiative.
On this occasion, H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Hemrani, Director-General of Ajman DED, said, “The Innovation Month embodies the directives of the UAE wise leadership in making the UAE at the top of the Global Innovation Index (GII). It is a celebration of the innovation process over the past years, and the events of the Innovation Month organized by the Department aim to engage members of society in designing and mapping the future of the Ajman economy, developing its services, and spreading awareness and a culture of innovation.” Al Hemrani stressed that the opportunity is available to all members of society, to present innovative ideas and projects, and to participate in all our events that will last until the end of February.
Salem Al-Ghafri added, “Ajman DED seeks to achieve a knowledge-based economy depending on the creativity and innovation. For such purpose, it actively and continuously seeks to enhance its capabilities in the field of sustainable development supported by creativity and innovation, to consolidate the foundations of the optimal environment to graduate new generations of talents necessary to provide the labor market with its increasing needs of creative mind, and to keep pace with the ambitious aspirations for the future of UAE economic development.
