The Ajman Department of Economic Development (Ajman DED) has announced the launch of its summer programs under the "Our Happy Summer 2026" initiative, reflecting its commitment to the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, aimed at investing the summer vacation in developing the capabilities of children and youth, preparing a generation equipped with future skills, contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy, and reinforcing Ajman’s position as an environment that supports innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

This year's participation by the Department includes five specialized initiatives and programs designed according to an integrated approach that combines knowledge with practical application. The programs focus on developing economic awareness, innovation, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and preserving national identity, in line with the Ajman Government’s objectives of building a knowledge-based society and a sustainable economy.

H.E. Saif Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Economic Development, said:

"The Department continues to invest in people as the main driver of economic development. From this perspective, our summer programs have been designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills that prepare them for the future through educational and practical experiences that foster innovation, develop the spirit of initiative, strengthen national identity, and contribute to preparing a generation capable of creating opportunities and leading development."

The Department will commence its programs on 20 July 2026 with the launch of the scientific program "Design Your Smart Agent", which keeps pace with the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence technologies. Participants will embark on both an educational and practical journey to design and build their own AI assistant using the latest artificial intelligence tools, contributing to the development of innovation, design thinking, and the preparation of young talents equipped with future-ready skills. The program will run from 20 to 30 July 2026, daily from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, targeting participants aged 13 to 18 years.

The "Hawameer" program, held at Fairmont Ajman Hotel, offers a specialized training program in financial literacy, economics, and entrepreneurship. It aims to empower participants with financial planning skills, budget management, saving and investment practices, understanding the economic ecosystem, as well as developing entrepreneurial ideas and transforming them into applicable business models. The program will continue until 30 July 2026 and targets participants aged 12 to 17 years, running daily from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The Department will also launch the "Taqa X" sports program from 20 July to 6 August 2026, offering a comprehensive sports experience supervised by specialists. Activities will take place across various sports and natural venues and include a marathon in Masfout, fitness activities, swimming, shooting, cycling, rowing, and mountain climbing. The program aims to promote public health, encourage a culture of sports participation, and develop the values of challenge, discipline, and teamwork among male participants aged 12 to 17 years.

In the field of practical entrepreneurship, the Department is organizing the "Kids Market" initiative from 31 July to 2 August 2026. The initiative will be held at City Centre Ajman, Square Market in Manama, and Al Madina Supermarket in Masfout, providing children and young participants with a practical opportunity to showcase and market their products and services in a realistic business environment. This initiative develops planning, marketing, customer service, and small business management skills while promoting a culture of self-employment and entrepreneurship among participants aged 8 to 12 years. Activities will be conducted during both morning and evening sessions to accommodate the largest possible number of participants and visitors.

The Department will conclude its summer programs with the "Al Sarroud" competition, hosted by Umm Al Moumineen Association from 3 to 6 August 2026, daily from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The competition brings together mothers and their daughters in an interactive heritage experience focused on preparing traditional Emirati dishes under the supervision of a professional chef. It aims to preserve the Emirati culinary heritage, strengthen family bonds, and pass traditional recipes and skills from one generation to another in a competitive atmosphere that enriches national identity and reinforces the values of belonging among participants aged 10 years and above.

The Ajman Department of Economic Development affirmed that the "Our Happy Summer 2026" programs represent an integrated model combining education, training, and practical application, reflecting its vision of empowering younger generations with future skills and enhancing their readiness to contribute to the national economy, in line with the Ajman Government’s vision of building a knowledge-based society and a competitive economy driven by innovation and sustainability
