In conjunction with the UAE declaration of 2023 as the "Year of Sustainability", the Ajman Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) organized in Masfout a discussion session within the second edition of the "Ajman Talk" initiative, under the slogan of "Sustainable Economy", in the presence of businesspersons in Ajman, as well as entrepreneurs and SME owners, with the participation of a group of strategic partners. The Session included 3 main topics related to attracting investment, infrastructure, marketing and promotion, involving customers and society in shaping the features of the coming period, and honoring major investors. Ajman DED called on the generation of sustainability pioneers to continue creating new solutions to support the process of sustainable economic development in the Emirate.
H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director General of the Ajman DED, said: “The Ajman Talk initiative is a major platform in which an elite of government officials meet with the private sector and investors to present and discuss the latest economic developments, and discuss new solutions in all relevant fields. We listen with interest to the opinions and views of the stakeholders, especially customers, and we work in an integrated way with our partners to achieve the Ajman vision, which aims to enhance competitiveness, develop areas of sustainable development, build a green economy, and activate the partnership with the private sector, which leads to the well-being of the individual and the quality of life of the society.
For his part, H.E. Dr. Saeed Saif Al Matrooshi, the Secretary-General of the Executive Council in Ajman, explained that sustainability comes at the top of the vision for the future of Ajman and Masfout, based on the wise leadership’s belief in the importance of achieving a balance between economic growth, social progress, and environmental protection in order to ensure a sustainable future for all.
Al Matrooshi affirmed the commitment of the Ajman Government to contribute to achieving the national agenda and preserving the Emirati values system, as the government works to promote high-value activities and responsible spending, placing society at the heart of the decision-making process and developing services. It is also committed to the principles of inclusiveness, flexibility, transparency, accountability, and cooperation, to be more prepared for the future by anticipating and analyzing future trends and opportunities using the latest technologies and innovative solutions.
H.E. Mahmoud Khalil Al Hashemi, Director-General of the Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) confirmed that the emirate of Ajman managed to achieve a pioneering position that made it an ideal investment destination in the tourism field, thanks to the tireless efforts of its wise leadership represented by H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the Ruler of the Emirate of Ajman and a member of the UAE Supreme Council, and H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, and the continuous follow-up of Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the ATDD.
Al Hashemi said that the Department's participation in the "Ajman Talk" initiative aims to spread the culture of excellence and innovation, support the sustainable tourism investment movement in Ajman, create a spirit of positive competition in this sector, and seek to develop our services by adopting local best practices and in accordance with international standards in this vital field. The Department, through strategic partnerships with government and private departments and entities, aims to enhance the investment environment in Ajman, highlight the tourist destinations available in it, as well as developing channels of participation, cooperation, and bilateral relations with all stakeholders.
Mohammed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Trade Development and International Relations Sector at the Ajman Chamber, added that Ajman is characterized by an active economic sector that is compatible with a diversified and sustainable investment movement, thanks to a set of competitive advantages that put Ajman on the map of attracting investments locally, regionally, and globally, thanks to the wise vision of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the Ruler of the Emirate of Ajman and a member of the UAE Supreme Council, and H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council.
Al Janahi said that the Ajman Chamber continues to achieve its mission aimed at representing and protecting the interests of the business community in Ajman and leading awareness efforts and partnerships to achieve sustainable future growth.
