In line with the Year of Sustainability, the Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) organized a workshop entitled "Journey to a Sustainable Future" on Thursday, August 24, at the Ajman Saray Hotel. The workshop was attended by Ajman government employees, the Sustainability Team, and the Ajman DED's employees, as part of its social responsibility, and with a view to raising awareness about sustainability and the environment and enhancing the participants' knowledge of its importance. The workshop discussed the themes of sustainable development in the region.
The workshop was inaugurated by H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director General of the Ajman DED, who expressed the importance of this workshop in shedding light on the concept of sustainability and raising awareness of its importance among employees, as an opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge, encourage innovative thinking in the areas of sustainable development, and contribute to building a sustainable and prosperous future for the Emirate of Ajman. He also stressed the importance of adopting sustainable lifestyles and businesses in order to preserve the environment and achieve a balance between the needs of the present and the future.
The workshop was held over a full day and included a variety of practical sessions and workshops. The workshop was presented by Dr. Mohammed Al Awn, Circular Economy and Environment Advisor, who reviewed, during the workshop, the latest successful ideas and projects that contribute to achieving the goals of sustainable development.
At the end of the workshop, the participants expressed their gratitude to Ajman DED for organizing this important event and praised the emirate's efforts to promote concepts of sustainability and achieve a balance between economic development and environmental preservation.
