The Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) graduated a group of national cadres working in the Ajman Government with the “Innovation in Leadership, Management, and Development” diploma accredited by the American Board, as part of the activities of “UAE Innovates 2024,” the largest national event held in February of each year to celebrate innovation and innovators in all over the country. This diploma lasted for two weeks from February 5 to 19, 2024 at the Fairmont Ajman Hotel, and employees from the Ajman Police General Command, the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Ajman, the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), the Department of Land and Real Estate Regulation, and the Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD), participated. In addition to the employees of Ajman DED.
The Diploma included 3 three main themes; the leadership theme included the topic of innovative leadership, achieving excellence in the administrative structure to meet challenges, the intelligent leader, and flexible creative leadership, while the management theme covered the concept and importance of administrative creativity and innovation, and the obstacles to creativity and innovation at the individual level and the institution level. It also introduced the personal characteristics of a creative employee and reviewed the applications and skills of generating creative ideas. The development theme addressed the development strategy, the role of development in managing competencies and talents, attracting and maintaining them, and finally change management methods.
On this occasion, H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director-General of the Ajman DED, stated: “The Ajman DED participates annually in the UAE Innovates events and activities with a view to contributing to strengthening the position of the UAE and the Emirate of Ajman as a global center for innovation, promoting the development of innovative ideas and capabilities, creating a broad culture of innovation, celebrating innovation and innovators, and supporting the transformation of ideas into a reality, and this embodies the alignment of our strategic plan with the national strategy for advanced innovation, which contributes to strengthening our social and economic standing and making us a destination for talent and business in a record period.”
The Diploma presenter, Lecturer Salem Al Ghafri, head of the innovation team at the Ajman DED, a member of the American Board and a member of the Global Innovation Institute (GInI), said: “Ajman DED has adopted innovation as an institutional approach, taking science and knowledge and qualifying human capital with advanced concepts to lead government work, based on accelerating the pace of innovation to achieve the emirate’s economic vision by empowering capabilities and building national cadres and talents to raise the level of performance and create a better future.”
