The Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) organized the second session of the Ramadan Economic Majlis in its third edition for 2023, in cooperation with the Organizing Committee for the Ramadan in Ajman Activities and the Citizens Affairs Office under the slogan "Sustainable Economy". The second session was entitled the "Industrial Revolution Strategy", in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology. The session was presented by Mr. Tariq Al Hashemi, Director of Technology Adoption and Development at the Ministry, and opened by H.E. Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director-General of Ajman DED in Al Raqaib Majlis.

On this occasion, H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani confirmed that the second session of the Ramadan Economic Majlis is to confirm the importance of industry in Ajman, as the contribution of the industrial sector to the Ajman GDP is about 20%, marking it as one of the most important sectors that the emirate focuses on developing through its various partnerships, including our strategic partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology. Al Hamrani added, “We aim in the second session to inform the public about the strategy of the industrial revolution, its objectives, and to raise awareness among the factory owners to develop their facilities, and keep pace with this strategy.”

Al Hamrani praised the efforts made by the Ministry in promoting the employment of advanced technology in industries through its various initiatives and projects in the UAE and its contribution to promoting the UAE and its industries and innovations.

Al Hamrani thanked the Ministry as a key partner of the Department, and H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Nuaimi, Director General of Ajman's Citizens Affairs Office, for the Office's continuous support for the initiatives of the Ajman DED.

H.E. Omar AlSuwaidi said: “Thanks to the vision and directives of the wise leadership, the UAE launched the Industrial Technological Transformation program to employ advanced technology in industries and projects as a basic pillar for developing the national economy in partnership with the private sector. The technology transformation is also one of the pillars of the national strategy for industry and advanced technology, so the Ministry works through an integrated system of legislation, programs, and initiatives to promote the use of advanced technology and accelerate the industrial technology transformation in the UAE, which contributes to achieving the UAE goals, enhances the contribution of the industrial sector to the UAE GDP, and promotes the UAE as a global center for manufacturing and innovation, in a way that opens new global markets for UAE products.

Al Suwaidi added: “As part of its efforts, the Ministry launched several programs and initiatives during the past two years, including the “Make in the UAE” initiative, which offers many advantages and enablers to support the industrial sector, accelerates technology transformation, enhances competitiveness and sustainability, and the Industrial Technology Transformation program, which is one of Transformational Projects of the "50 Projects". in addition, the Ministry launched the Industrial Technology Transformation Index (ITTI), which was added as a new criterion within the National Added Value Program, as well as "Future Factories" initiatives to enhance the efficiency of entrepreneurship and merging and small companies in line with the trends of relying on advanced technology."

Al Suwaidi praised the efforts exerted by the Ajman DED in promoting the growth and development of the industrial sector in the emirate and its contribution to supporting the growth and development of the UAE industrial sector.
